Forgive me for the lateness people, that democratic convention has had me all wrapped up. Go Barack!
Anyway, the show starts off with Luke playing his new record Rodeo
(which has no business being make in the new millenium) for his now
wife ----. She then proceeds to lie to her man and tell him that the
record is hot. Umm, isn't the first rule to marriage honesty?? Moving
right along lol...
So Im a big fan of rap and rock mash ups. I havent heard one in a while and I think this one is pretty decent. Good Charlotte kills the hook and Bubba Sparxx does an alright job with the lyrics. Nothing all that exciting but better than some of the crap thats out right now. Which doesnt take much I know, however, I think this is worth a listen. Especially for anyone going through hard times right now, which seems like alot of us, haha. Keep ya heads up ya'll! -MinM
After the disappointment of the earlier Cam'ron news, this song and video are a breath of fresh air. Director Rik Cordero brings us a simple yet entertaining video. No silly gimics or crazy story lines that have nothing to do with the song. Just some very talented lyricists spitting some fire rhymes sitting around a table. A few solo shots and close ups here and there, but this video is clearly about the music as it should be. The hook representation is pretty hot too, its always good to see rappers using live instruments in their songs.
So if you thought that we were free from bullshyt music for a while, you were wrong. Yes, we got: The Game, LL, Ludacris, and T.I. all dropping promising albums here in the next coming months, but now joining the list is Dipset leader, Cam'ron. He plans to release the follow up to his album Killa Season, in November and it will be called Crime Pays. And if your getting all antsy, thinking we will get to see Juelz Santana on this joint, calm down, it probably aint happening. Cam sold Santana's contract to Def Jam earlier in the month. Santana claims it's all good but we know how that goes.
I could have really done without this announcement. I cant stand Cam's no rapping a**! I mean when he was down with Mase back in the day, he was alright. But then he got all Im a gangsta in my pink and purple and he just lost it for me. He tries entirely too hard to be something that he aint. How the hell you go from doing joints like "Horse & Carriage," to doing hard core street joints?! He's a joke and this album will flop just like all the rest. Who knows, maybe he will get shot again and make some sells due to sympathy. It worked for 50. - MinM
Sigh... the latest one to get on the bandwagon, I see. Well, I really can't say that... it was thrown at him, and he caught the hot, steaming, bullsh-t potato. Whatever.
WHY WON'T THIS CORNY A*S-COOKIES BEAT JUST DIE ALREADY?! DAMN, N*GGAS! It ain't even that hot!
Speaking of which, neither was Mos' delivery on this one. Dante, I don't know you had to do it to yourself on this one, my man. You're better than that.
Truth be told, there's only one artist who I think attempted to give "A Milli" any diginity. But to me, it just served to portray that she does in fact have more than just lip-gloss poppin' talents: she can *still* rip a sh-tty beat. This has been out for a minute, but if you haven't heard it, check it out and let me know what you think:
So y'all know that I've been bumping that From Dusk Til' Dawn cd... why? 'Cuz there's some real emceeing on that ish, courtesy of my dudes Priest Forever and John O. And I've been feeling this joint since I saw them perform it at their album release in March. I like the vid, too, it's kinda a throwback to vids from the 90's, before they became about a bunch of bullsh--. Check it below:
MC Dirty Salty Nutz, why you hatin'? I love Tha Gecko Boys too! LMAO!
I'm not so sure why they never wanted this video released, but its pretty got to me. I don't think I'm alone here but if this was a real cartoon show I just might watch it lol.
I guess Tip can take on a new nickname, Record Breaker, because that's exactly what he did today! Tomorrow, when Billboard officially puts out this week's Hot 100, T.I.'s Whatever You Like will sit atop it in only its third week by jumping a record 70 spots (71-1) to #1! This breaks Maroon 5's year old record of 64-1 with Makes Me Wonder back on May 12, 2007.
I'm personally still not really feeling this song, but I had a feeling it would be a #1 hit. I hate to say I told you so BUT this totally proves my "Lollipop Factor" theory lol. If you wanna know exactly what the "Lollipop Factor" is you can check it out by clicking here.
Oh, and expect to hear at least 20 more Jim Jonsin produced records between now and the end of the year since he's the producer behind Whatever You Like and Lollipop, both T.I. and Lil Wayne's first #1's.
IOkay, okay. I KNOW the majority of you YouTubers have seen this vid already (that is, if you don't live under a rock). But seriously, y'all? I WATCH THIS SHYT LIKE, EVERY SINGLE DAY just so I can rap along with Ernie, "TAKE RINGS OFF! TAKE RINGS OFF!" Definitely an instant mood-picker-upper.... and still makes you wanna get out and beat the sh*t outta someone, just like the original song and video.
I don't know what's sadder: the fact that I watch this everyday or the fact that since I have a two-year-old avid Sesame Street fiend for a niece, I can name each and every original skit this kid used for this video (i.e. the part where Ernie says "TAKE RINGS OFF!" (my fave part) is "Boom Boom In My Room"... I know... Breezy needs help, y'all, LMAO!
