Alright, so all of you Joe Budden fans who were ready to get it cracking in the Padded Room, might want to fall back. The album being put out by the Amalgam Digital company, has been pushed back until, February 24, 2009.
Due to complications, the album had to be put on hold. Amalgam Digital had this to say:“There is a popular misconception that Amalgam Digital is strictly an internet label. Although the label places a strong focus on new media marketing initiatives, promotions, and distributing digital releases, the company is actually still releasing physical CD’s as well. While Amalgam has a unique and progressive strategy, the company still faces the same issues and delays every major label encounters when dealing with physical product. Despite the climate at retail and 4th quarter delays that prevent “Padded Room” from being released in October 2008, we stand behind Joe Budden and believe he should have the opportunity to release music to his fans." They do also have high expectations for his sales in the digital market, though the “Padded Room" will be available in regular cd format as well.
However, Amalgam Digital and Joe Budden have not forgotten about the fans and still plan on allowing them to get a little crazy. A history making replacement called, The Halfway House, will be released instead on October 28, 2008. Historical because this album with 14 brand new tracks will be the first ever digital only hip-hop release that uses both traditional and new marketing methods. It will be exclusively available on digital markets only such as: AmalgamDigital.com, iTunes, etc.
And though Joe Budden is not happy about his original album being pushed back, he still encourages fans to support the replacement: “Though I’m not happy about it being pushed so far back, I do understand the method behind the madness. We've got an album I’m extremely proud of and a lead single that Amalgam Digital and I are both very happy with, but for those of you who are just as anxious as I am, I apologize," he stated.
Need More Info:
Ok, Im not a big Joe Budden fan and wasnt even aware that he was doing a second album. So this doesnt mean all that much to me. But I am very curious as to what is with all the album titles with references to the nut house. I played with it for the report but it bothers me just a little, we better watch mister Budden pretty closely. Anyway, this new digital thing is quite intriguing and Id love to see the differences between that and your traditional cd release. Guess new technology is touching everything these days huh? I say go support the man, at least he gave us a replacement, instead of just having us wait forever with nothing to tide us over, like some rappers do. And something is better than nothing at all. - MinM
Damn this is that bull!
