Its no secret that Al Pacino and his films, were a huge influence on the hip-hop culture. Rappers especially mention the legendary actor at every turn. Fabolous is no different, and plans to show his love to Pacino in a big way.
Currently Fab is preparing his fifth album, entitled Loso's Way. The album will pay tribute to the popular old school flick, Carlito's Way. Fab will do this by molding his album around the movie. The movie, if you havent seen it, is simply put, about a criminal trying to get on the straight and narrow, after doing some time in prison. Fab understands this is a risky move and will only serve its purpose if done right. Working hard to ensure its good, is why he claims to have been missing in action, for the past year or so. He has some hip-hop heavy weights on board for production. Among them are Jermaine Dupri and DJ Toomp. And Fab is making sure that the producers take the project serious too, as he is having those unfamiliar with the film go back and watch it, before getting to work. The album is scheduled to hit retailers sometime in February 2009. However, Fab promises to release some tracks to the streets, very soon.
I loved Fab when he first came out. I think he fell off a little bit though, somewhere after his first album. However, I am willing to give this new project a chance, despite my feelings. It sounds really interesting and definitely seems like its going to take alot of effort and hard work. I admire him for thinking outside the box and going for something different. I think alot of rappers these days could learn from that. Im hoping since he is being so hard on the producers to get it right, that he is on point with his lyrical game too. All the hot beats in the world, dont mean shyt, if your lyrics are wack. Thats why they have instrumentals, so its going to take a joint effort to get this right. I am anxious now to hear a little something before February, so I'll be doing some digging. If I find anything, I'll be sure to bring it to you guys and we can see what you think. Do you think Al Pacino ever imagined he'd have such an impact on rap music? I wonder how he feels about it all. -MinM

i think Nas or Jay-z could pull this off, Even Raeqwon. but Fab is still wet between the ears to understand the logic of the movie.
