Every once in a while, we bring you guys something for sheer entertainment value. This definitely falls into that category. Check out the "Funky Fresh Senior Choir," as they bring you such hits as: "Lose Yourself," "Hot In Here," "Ridin' Dirty," and more!
The description for this video says it was the opener for a Student Fall Retreat. The Retreat was called "You've Got Talent," and this was supposed to serve as a mock audition tape. Basically, what you have is a choir of elderly people singing a melody of rap songs. They open with "Lose Yourself" by Eminem and close with "Hot In Here" by Nelly.
This was some seriously funny ish. The choir was waaay off beat and the director was just a mess. He was way too proper with it and sounded crazy. Also, the choir had a hard time with the lyrics, lots of stumbling and mumbling going on. I don't know what age range the Retreat was supposed to host, but those kids had to bug out when they seen this. I mean, I understand they were trying to reach out to the kids by being relateable, since their is a considerable age difference going on. But butchering hip-hop music is not the way to do it! This would turn me off to a retreat, if I saw it, but maybe that's just me. If you watch it, stick with it 'til the end, the Nelly stuff is hilarious. I'm gone leave you with: "It's getting hot in here, so take off all your robes. I am getting so hot, I'm going to take my robe off." Lmao, White people are a trip! -MinM
