Rapper Bizzy Bone formerly of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony was robbed not too long ago. Click the jump to read how it all went down.
Bizzy Bone was returning to his room at the Universal Hilton from a restaurant, when he was attacked. There were several men who approached Bizzy and then proceeded to beat and choke him. They also stole his jewelry, according to police reports. The good news here is that police officers have the primary suspect in custody with bail set at $1.1 million. He has been identified as Marlo "Bow Wow" Jones.
Jones is being held at Parker Center Jail in downtown Los Angeles. The kicker is that Jones was a member of the anti-gang and violence organization in that area. The organization is called Unity One and is about working towards change and peace. It was started in 1992, inspired by the Rodney King beating and the intense gang uprising in the Los Angeles area. Since the start, there have been five similar organizations that have branched off and contributed to the cause via prevention and intervention techniques. The founder of these organizations is former gang member, Darren "Bo" Taylor. Until this whole ordeal is over, officials are saying that Jones has been terminated as a member of Unity One. There are still several other male and female suspects at large.
This is some crazy ish, ain't it? How ironic is it that a member of an anti VIOLENCE group BEATS and ROBS a rapper? I mean what kind of people do they let into these organizations. Do they not run background checks on these people. What kind of example are you setting when you go against the very thing that your fighting for. Jones should be ashamed of himself for being such a hypocrit and I hope he serves some good time. And why didn't Bizzy have security with him. I mean true he is not hardly as relevant as he used to be but he still has celebrity status. Rappers gone get enough of thinking they too cool for protection. He is like the fourth or fifth one to get robbed, beat up, or both as of late. I don't know, the industry never ceases to amaze me. I'll update with any significant info. -MinM
