It is official, Kelly Rowland will no longer be managed by Matthew Knowles. The split became legit this past Wednesday (1-28-09), though rumours had already began circulating the net that this was about to go down prior to the announcement. Though not many details have been released and Rowland denies what is being oput out there, sources say that a huge fight broke out between the two parties. It drove Rowland to the edge and she let Matthew go. No word has been mentioned as to who will be Rowland's manager now. But she and Matthew have stated that this will not impact their personal relationship and that there are no hard feelings. Any further detail emerge, I will do an update.
First off, I think that Matthew should have never managed the entire group in the first place. With his daughter being in it, there was always an obvious conflict of interest present. And I feel he fell victim to that conflict and caused all of the past drama with Destiny's Child. So I feel like Kelly should have been had a new manager. With that being said, I am not sure that is going to help her career. I love Kelly and her music is good, but it just don't have that fire element that she needs to sell major records in my opinion. Maybe, I am wrong though and we just never seen her full potential due to her biased manager. Guess only time will tell, I wish her the best. -MinM
