Kidz In The Hall have been chosen to kick off Reebok's new series of campaigns. The series is for the Reebok Classic Remix sneakers. The campaigns will feature new popular rappers remixing 80's hip-hop classics. Interested in learning more, keep reading.
Kidz In The Hall will kick things off by remixing "I Got It Made" by Special Ed. Their remix will be made available exclusively with the purchase of shoes from the Reebok Classic Remix collection. Throughout the year, Reebok will feature new styles and colors in the collection. As they do, other hip-hop acts will take their turn at remixing an 80's classic to accompany the sell of the footwear. Other acts on board so far include: B.O.B. and Kid Sister. Reebok's goal in doing this project is to give consumers a more retro option in footwear, according to reports. The shoes will feature a combination of styles from past and present. The Reebok Classic Remix collection will be available only at Foot Locker stores, starting March 10, 2009. This is not the companies first time working with hip-hop artists. In the past they have worked with many big names, like Jay Z for example. Which is probably why this is taking place, despite their nasty run in with Kid Cudi during the NBA All-Star Weekend.
I think this sounds like a really fun project. I'd love to see a commercial or something for this collection. I don't wear Reeboks or anything and I am not too big on hipster rap but this is something different. It's always good to see hip-hop expanding into new and unique ventures. Hopefully, the remixes are of quality and the company achieves their desired goal. Bet Cudi wishes he had just put on the damn shoes now, huh? This would have been a nice opportunity for him, since he has such a unique way about him and all. Oh well, you live and learn. If there is a commercial, song leak, or anything else interesting that drops about this, I'll try to do an update. -MinM
