Kanye West, Ludacris, Jim Jones, and many more rappers have been called upon to perform and entertain during the NBA All-Star Weekend Events, which kicks off today in Scottsdale, Arizona. Snoop Dogg will begin the concert series at Club Rain; while Amare Stoudemire will hold it down for the players with a party at his restaurant, Stoudemire's Downtown in honor of his new record label, Hypocalypto Records. And that's just the tip of the iceberg for day one. More details on what's going down, after the jump.
For $50, fans can see Ludacris at Sugar Daddy's Saturday or catch other events featuring such big names as Cedric The Entertainer, John Legend, and more. If you were wondering what was going to happen to the parties that Chris Brown was supposed to host, chill out. Nelly has been added to the scene as his official replacement. And finally, rounding out the weekend for the final day, will be acts such as Jim Jones. Fans 21 and older will be able to catch him live with tables for large groups of people going for about $200. Tickets for this event must be picked up by 6 pm, on the night of the event. So there is plenty going down this year for the All-Star Weekend.
I love basketball and hip-hop, and I've always wanted to visit Arizona, so this sounds like a lot of fun to me. Plus, there is plenty to do for Valentines Day, whether you have a boo or not. I hope that all the events go well and that everyone has a good time. I'm interested to see the pictures and stuff from the turn outs. I'm sure they will be circulating the net as soon as bloggers can get their hands on them, lol. Anything note worthy happens, I'll do a follow up of some sort. -MinM
