Alright, so I'm sure we have all heard reports that Soulja Boy said that Nas killed hip-hop via his album, Hip-Hop Is Dead. Of course he denied saying that, cause we all know Nas would "Ether" his a** ten times over. Peep him breaking down what he meant below on the radio with DJ Skee.
Ok, I don't see too much difference in what he broke down via the interview. Regardless of how he puts it, I totally disagree. Nas is not responsible for today's state of hip-hop. Wack a** rappers like Soulja Boy and Plies are responsible. People who support and keep songs like "Stanky Leg," in heavy rotation on the air waves are responsible. People who do not give credit to REAL rappers because they refuse to conform to the mainstream way of doing things are responsible. There are many reasons hip-hop is not what it should be today but do not put the blame on Nas. If anything, he told the raw truth. No one in the hip-hop community wants to acknowledge the sad reality of it, so people got mad at him. That's all it was though, I believe the song forced people to open their eyes and maybe aided hip-hop if anything. Soulja Boy's album didn't sell cause he's garbage and people are starting to see that. He can only blame himself and the fact that he even had to bring Nas up to justify his poor album sales, shows what a lame he is. I swear, I can not stand this boy and am so glad his career is heading towards the dumps. But that's only a small start, we got so much more cleaning up to do as far as hip-hop goes.
