News: T.I.'s Paper Trail Will Not Be Released Again

So if you were all excited about purchasing the Paper Trail: Case Closed album, I got bad news. The project has been shelved. It was supposed to be a re-release of Paper Trail with some new tracks thrown in the mix. There have been tons of leaked tracks and recently a few videos from the project as well. No reason for the shelving has been given but reps from Atlantic Records say that the new tracks might be released online. The original album saw major success upon it's release and sold close to two million copies. So I guess, fans gone have to wait until T.I. is free before getting a new album.

I don't support re-releases any ways, so this doesn't bother me much. I feel like it's just a ploy to extort money from fans. I am curious as to why they shelved it though. It has gotten so much hype since T.I. got locked up, I think it would have done extremely well. Guess ish happens, keep ya head up T.I., can't wait until you return! -MinM

"Holy Are You"

Rakim is officially back. This is his first single off of his upcoming album, The Seventh Seal. Things kick off with a very religious type of introduction and then give way to the track. The production here is on point. There is a strong bass, some instruments, has a very serious vibe to it. The hook is solid, but could be arranged better. There are some faint vocals and various audio clips. I think the vocals should be the dominant part, as they make the song stronger. I think the extra audio should be taken out or put in another place on the track. The verses were hot, Rakim did his thing. His lyrics were well written, he had good word play, and his delivery was very smooth. Overall, I'd say this was a strong comeback joint. I say give it a play, you won't regret it, especially if your a Rakim fan. -MinM
