Towards the beginning of the year, I did a story about Kid Cudi doing a show on HBO. Recently some new details have dropped about the series. The show will be called, How To Make It In America.
To recap, the show will follow a few twenty year old males as they attempt to hustle their way to the "American Dream" on the streets of New York. Cudi will play a character named Domingo Dean. The character is named after Cudi's two brothers. As mentioned before, Cudi's character will provide the comic relief. He also stated that his character has a little romantic and a little player in him as well. Cudi is excited about the show because he says it will provide him a relief from music. He says he wants to branch out from music as early as he possibly can. He wants to explore new things and see where it leads him. Cudi doesn't want fans to worry though, music is still a part of his career. Mark Wahlberg has reportedly signed on to lead the production team for the new series. Wahlberg is also trying to get a possible movie going with Eminem. The HBO series is slated supposedly for a Fall 2009 premiere. If I come across a trailer or anything, I'll do an update.
I didn't know Wahlberg got down on the production tip, that's cool. I think he is a brilliant actor, so I'm sure he's excellent with producing as well. Again, I'm still not sure about Cudi as an actor. He just don't seem skilled in that area, at least not long term. But you never know, he might have some award winning skills under all that weirdness, lol. I'd like to see what he can do, at least once. -MinM
