Last night (8/23), Fabolous did a concert in Allentown, Pennsylvania that ended in gun fire. The concert was at the Crocodile Rock Cafe.
One man and one woman were fatally shot and rushed to the hospital. The man was shot in his face and the woman was shot in her arm. The shooting took place in the parking lot of the venue, around 2:30am. This is the second incident to occur at the venue following a rap concert. The first one took place in 2006, after a canceled Juelz Santana show. No word as to why exactly the shooting occurred has been given yet. Police are still investigating the incident. And no word from Fab was given either. Reports state that he is about to kick off his promotional tour with Reebok, that I posted about a little bit ago.
Damn, this is crazy and sad. I'm sure whatever went down, it was not necessary to shoot two people. I say it all the time, we need to do better Black people! This never happens following any other concert genre, except rap. It makes the hip-hop community look bad, it makes Black people look bad, and it makes people cautious to support artists. No one wants to go to a concert, at the risk of their life. It's not worth it, when you can stay safely at home and most likely catch clips of the show online. It's not the same but at least then you don't have to worry about getting shot. Shootings seem to have followed concerts a lot lately in the past year or so. Smh, hopefully the victims will be alright and we will get it together one day. -MinM
