Kanye West is taking after comrade Jay Z and releasing a lyric book as well. The book will be titled, Through The Wire and will break down 12 songs that he has created since the beginning of his career.
The book will analyze the songs with the help of photos. The purpose of the book is to tell Ye's story in a unique way. It will cover everything from his struggles prior to his career, to the infamous accident that lead to his first hit single and video. Each song section will feature: a photo, reference explanations, biographical info as it relates to the lyrics, and Ye's personal interpretation of the lyrics. If all stays on schedule, the book will hit retailers on November 10, 2009. This will be Ye's second big pending book this year. His first is the major photo tour book, Glow In The Dark. It's a 288 page book of photos that chronicles his time on a tour that shares the same name. It's supposed to be released some time soon and will come with a special USB drive of unreleased Kanye tracks. The retail price is currently set at around $50. And if reading and photos aren't your thing, Kanye has one more new project floating around. It's a short film called, We Were Once A Fairytale. The film was supposed to come out to digital retailers but so far has only surfaced online. It's 11 minutes long and according to reports is about an overly emotional and out of control Kanye West. I peeped a snippet and it's definitely something different, lol.
It's good to see Ye getting into so many different things. The tour book looks really hot from the pictures that I saw. His photographer did his thing. The lyric book sounds okay I guess. I don't rock with Ye enough to get all deep into his lyrics. And that movie just seems weird as hell. Guess you got to be a die hard Ye fan to appreciate it. Let me know if ya'll check any of these things out and what you think. -MinM
