Pimp C's wife is presenting an event next month to celebrate Pimp C's life. It will be called, The Inaugural Chad Butler Hip Hop & Health/Wellness Fair and is set to take place in Port Arthur, Texas.
Several rappers are scheduled to attend the event and show their support to their late comrade. Among those artists are: Bun B, Too Short, Jacki O,
and a few more. The event will promote: safe sex, regular testing,
abstinence, and drug prevention. The event is being sponsored by UGQ
Inc and the Syphilis Elimination Advisory Committee (S.E.A.C.). The
fair will take place on December 4, 2009 and is set to be on that date
in the years to come as well. The date being significant as it was when
the late rapper was found dead in his hotel room, just two years ago in
Los Angeles. Free vaccinations and HIV/STD testing will be done in
addition to everything else on behalf of The Port Arthur Health
Department. The location for the event is the Port Arthur, Texas Pavilion and the
time is from about 6:00pm to 10:00pm. If you would like more
information, you may send an email to Pimp C's wife here.
I think this is a very unique and respectable way to honor someone's memory. It's also a good look for the rappers to come out and support this kind of thing. So many people are uninformed or misinformed about the topics the fair covers and this would be a great opportunity for them to enjoy themselves and learn something. Could save a life or two, never know. I hope everything turns out for the best, rest in peace to Pimp C. -MinM
