Next Tuesday will be a day for remembering the late ODB. ImageNation Cinema Foundation will premiere the ODB tribute film in New York. The film is titled Dirty: One Word Can Change The World and it was directed by ODB's cousin, Raison Allah. The film is a documentary that tells the story of the rapper's eccentric life and career. The story will mostly be told through interviews, by those who knew him best. This includes: The Wu-Tang Clan, The Black Knight, The Brooklyn Zu, etc. Also with the film, attendees will get an exclusive live performance from ODB's Brooklyn Zu. And after the film and performance, there will be a discussion: on ODB's musical career, on mental health, and on substance abuse prevention. ODB still retains his spot as one of the most popular members of the Wu-Tang Clan to date. His chaotic behavior and unique style, are what is said to have been the keys to his success. It has been about five years since the rapper sadly passed away in November 2004 from a drug overdose. The film premieres Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the National Black Theatre. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. If you are interested in going, you may purchase tickets here.
This is pretty cool, sounds interesting to me. I never was much of an ODB fan and didn't understand why people liked him, but to each his own. He was just too crazy for me, lol. But I'm glad they found a decent way to honor his memory. A sincere rest in peace to the fallen rapper. -MinM
