Hip-Hop legends X-Clan are gearing up to celebrate their 20 years in the game. They broke into the industry around the year 1990. Leading members Jason "Grand Verbalizer Funkin-Lesson Brother J" Hunter and Paradise "The Architect" Gray have stated that the group is working on three new projects.
Those projects are: a tour, a book, and a new album. Gray is looking forward to the new album, as he hasn't done any producing since the last X-Clan album. He feels that his work is sacred to the group only. The X-Clan was well known for: their revolutionary brand of hip-hop, unique way of thinking and speaking, and their use of Pan-Africanism theories. The group was founded while Gray was managing a club back in the day in Time Square. Unfortunately, not all of the members of the group will be around for their anniversary activities. Member Suga Shaft passed way in 1995 due to AIDS and member Professor X passed away in 2006 from spiral meningitis complications. No dates or details have been given about the three projects that are underway. However, as more specifics emerge, I will keep readers up to date.
I never got into the X-Clan but I know they influenced a lot of today's rappers. Also, it's always a good look when artists have long lasting careers. These days rappers come and go, in the blink of an eye. So congrats to X-Clan on their legacy and I wish them the best of luck with their three new ventures. -MinM
