Naughty By Nature is gearing up for a few new projects as 2010 continues on. The major one is a brand new album. It will be their first since 2002's IIcons. In preparing for the new album, the veteran group has released two singles in the past six months. This was done to regain the interest of old fans and start getting the attention of new ones.
The new album will be entitled Anthem 8. The group hopes to have the album out just before the Summer hits. The singles out are: "Get to Know Me Better" and "I Gotta Lotta." And both are currently available on iTunes. Prior to releasing the singles, the group has been staying relevant via touring. Most of their touring has been on an international level. The other major project that the group is working on, is a reality show. Treach will be the center of the show. In light of that factor, the show is being titled, A Tribe Called Treach. Treach is no stranger to working on screen, as he has maintained a steady acting career since the early 1990's. Treach says that the show will feature everything from: group business, to family life, to ventures back in the hood. Unfortunately, the year isn't bringing just good things for the group. Just recently they lost a close friend and fellow rapper, Apache. Apache died from an unknown illness and was laid to rest last week. The members of Naughty By Nature credit Apache as being the one who help get them put on. He is considered a name to be remembered in the Hip-Hop community. No further details are available about Naughty By Nature and their new projects at this time. As things continue to progress, I'll do updates.
Guess it's good to see the boys of Naughty By Nature still trying to hang in there. Not real big on their music any more myself though. And reality shows come a dime a dozen now. So I don't think Treach's show will do too hot either. Maybe I need to be more optimistic though. What do ya'll think? Anybody still checking for Naughty? -MinM
I think if they got better people to represent them then I would still be playing their records. As of now i'm not nor do i see myself playing their stuff anytime soon. They need a new "Manager" and promotions person who wont upset college and underground radio djs with their incompetence...
