Former child rap star, Romeo is doing his part to help out the youth in Haiti. He is holding a free concert at Six Flags Magic Mountain, in order to collect books for the schools being rebuilt in the recently devastated country.
The event is being sponsored by I Heart Haiti Kids and Six Flags Friends. Fans who plan to attend the concert, are asked to bring at least two books to the Six Flags location in Los Angeles. Other young celebs, like Kyla Pratt, are expected to make an appearance during the concert too. Romeo says that his goal in the doing the event is to give Haiti children the luxury of a basic education. He thinks they deserve that much, after all of the suffering and loss that they have been through. And he thinks that his efforts will be successful, as long as people come through and do their part. Rebuilding the schools and getting enough supplies and stuff will be no easy task. Which is why even though Romeo is up for the challenge, he has called on several of his celeb pals to help contribute. Among those he reached out to are: Keke Palmer, Nick Cannon, and several others. The concert takes place on Saturday, February 27, 2010. If you can't make the concert but are moved by Romeo's efforts and want to see how you can help out, visit here.
Aww, it's heart warming to see the youth getting involved in the Haiti relief efforts. It's proof that the next generation isn't all lost and does care about things that are going on in the world today. Much respect to Romeo and the others for doing their part to help the Haiti kids. I hope their efforts in getting the schools rebuilt and properly supplied, is hugely successful. -MinM
The concert is free with a discounted paid admission to the park and the donation of 2 books.
