Looks like Shyne might not be alone in the deported rappers category. Geto Boys member Bushwick Bill is reportedly facing deportation too. He was recently in Atlanta Immigration Court to determine whether or not he will have to return to his homeland of Jamaica.
A buzz about his status surfaced after he missed this year's VH1 Hip-Hop Honors. Apparently, he missed his role in the dedication to Rap-A-Lot Records founder James Prince. At this time, the circumstances causing his citizenship to be questioned are unknown. Some speculation is that it may involve a recent arrest of the rapper. Bill was supposedly arrested for the crime of soliciting. No further details are available about his situation at this time. Should more details emerge, there will be an update. For those who don't know, Bill got his fame as one of the original members of old school controversial Hip-Hop group, The Geto Boys. The group got it's start in 1986 and saw a few line up changes. The most well known one is probably that of: Scarface, Willie D, and Bushwick Bill. Though not nearly as popular as they once were, the group is still considered to be active today. Also, all of the members have released solo albums through the years. Bill himself has about six solo albums under his belt. The latest was last year's gospel effort, The Testimony Of Redemption.
I had no clue that Bill was not from the United States. He like Shyne represented his region so hard, that I truly believed he was from Texas. I am very curious to know more about his arrest and stuff though. Soliciting really doesn't give us too much to go on. Well if his case isn't anything too bad, he should be allowed to stay. He has truly made his mark in the Hip-Hop community and it would be kind of sad to lose him. Any thoughts? -MinM
