DMX's wife Tashera Simmons is joining the world of tell all books about rappers. She has been working on the book for quite some time and has finally found a co-author for the project.
That co-author is the newly famed Aliya S. King. King has worked with other celebrities but her current claim to stardom is her book Platinum. Platinum is a fictional tale about the lives of rappers and their wives. Simmons and King met as she began to do research of sorts for her book. Simmons says that King sparked something in her, while she questioned her on what it was like to be in the life of a rapper. King would go on to do a piece for VIBE magazine that shared the same premise as her book and things took off from there. Simmons said after King brought her the book and she found herself strongly mirrored in one of the characters, she decided to link up with the writer for her own project. Simmons's book is entitled Strength Of A Woman and though King is currently working on the book, a release date has not yet been given. Should any further details develop in regards to Simmons's project, I'll do an update. On another note, Mr. Simmons himself has finally been released from prison in Arizona. He was working on a 6 month sentence for violating drug probation. He only ended up doing four months. Rumor has it that he has settled back into the studio with Swizz Beats and is working on some new projects of his own.
I was leery when I first heard that Tashera was doing a tell all book. After being forced to read Karrine Steffans for a college course, tell all books just turn me off. However, this one seems to come from a more genuine place. Meaning Tashera is not out to just rake X over the coals, but she might actually have something worth sharing. Guess we will have to wait until it hits book stores to find out. I am interested in reading Miss King's book for sure though. And on another note, I am happy that X is out AGAIN, lol. Let's just hope his music is enough to keep him out of trouble for a minute. -MinM
