Meet Hip-Hop's very own alleged Milli Vanilli, American duo Silibil 'N Brains aka Scottish duo Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd. Bain and Boyd were two college friends from Scotland. They decided to try and make a name for themselves as rappers but were unsuccessful. Apparently, people in Europe only saw them as something like a pop act. So the two men took matters into their own hands. They changed their identities to Brains McLoud and Silibil aka Silibil 'N Brains and gave themselves an American background. The story they created was that they were from California and had got kicked out of school. Also, that they were in the U.K. trying to get their rap careers off the ground and had ran out of money. They based the personalities for their new selves off of their favorite celebrities, Jim Carrey and Chris Tucker and adopted American accents when they rapped. The changes got the duo the fame they were looking for and a whole lot more.

With a new record deal, hot single, and bright future ahead of him; rapper J. Cole should be on top of the world right now. However, the inevitable buzz kill has surfaced. The rapper is taking fire for his new video "Who Dat." Apparently, the appearance of high school and college students in his video is not going over well. The rapper used students from EE Smith High School and Fayetteville State University to show a little love to his fellow North Carolina people. But school officials are not feeling the love, in fact they are highly upset. Officials say that the song and video are way too: violent, explicit, and sexual to be associated with their institutions. Also, they are offended by the use of the schools' logos in the piece and are claiming that J. Cole had no permission to use them. They feel that the video portrays the city and the schools in a very negative light and are pushing to have the video pulled from the net immediately.

Today rapper Lil Boosie went to to court to face a hearing related to his first degree murder charge. The several other men who got indicted along with the rapper, had their day in court as well. Boosie went before the judge for about two minutes and entered a not guilty plea. His defense attorney Marcus Allen, says that he believes his client is not guilty and that they are doing all they can to prepare for his defense against the indictment. On the opposite end of things, District Attorney Hillar Moore refrained from comment on the details of the pending case. But he did mention that it should be noted that the rapper is facing several other charges, including the drug indictment, and so it is difficult to speak on the rapper's future at the moment. Also, he says that as with all cases, Boosie is being presumed innocent until there is evidence that proves otherwise.

Popular Houston radio personality Brandi Garcia was fired from her long term job at KBXX 97.9 radio station earlier this month. She was fired because she played a song that featured rapper Trae Tha Truth. The radio station apparently has a huge beef going on with the rapper and have banned him, his music, and anything or anyone tied to him. Garcia was spinning at a concert at the Arena Theater and played Waka Flocka Flame's "O Let's Do It Remix" which includes a verse from Trae. Garcia states that she went into the radio station office the next day and was told she was fired for playing the track. She had been with the station for about five years. What makes things even worse is that she was not even representing the station at the concert event. She was spinning on her own time as part of a job that she received from a private promoter. And though it may not be fair that she was fired, the radio station seems to be well within their rights to let her go. Sadly Garcia is now a casualty in the Trae Tha Truth war.

Looks like Lil Boosie's hellish journey due to his new indictments has begun. Shortly after the news broke about his indictment for murder, the rapper was transferred to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Also, he released a statement saying that he is innocent and had nothing to do with the murder in question. But the police are stating that Boosie paid to have Terry Boyd killed and they are officially looking into the other five murders that the rapper has been tied to as well. One murder in particular is that of a man named Chris "Nussie" Jackson. Jackson was killed in February of 2009. Officials believe that all the murders are related due to the common theme of money paid and the similar styles of the murders. If convicted of the murders, Boosie faces the possibility of death by lethal injection. Boosie's drug indictment is in full swing too. His girlfriend, the former correctional officer, and the other inmate have all been officially charged with the drug crimes. Reports have it that Boosie's girlfriend has also been arrested. If Boosie is found guilty on his drug indictment, he could face life in prison.
