Let it be known that I am not a huge Valentine’s Day person. But, with the topic of this vid being what it is, what better day to drop it than Valentine’s Day? I may want to choke back vomit every time I see Cupid with a bow & arrow, but I don’t hate on true love...haha!  Anyway, I teamed up again with the homie actor/emcee John O. to count down our Top Television Couples. It’s funny because while our choices were very different, we reached mutual ground on choosing the Number One Couple. I’m sure if you are a fan of the particular show they were on, you’ll understand why they were chosen. So check it, & let me know if you agree.

Wassup, fam! I'm going to keep this description short because the video is self-explanatory. Of all the Emcee Diary/I Am Hip-Hop blogs that have appeared on The Breezy Effect (and those soon to come), this is the first one that actually features.... ME!!!! I teamed up with the homie John O. (who's been featured on this blog several times-- check the Categories) to count down the dopest hip-hop videos that best utilized New York City as a backdrop. Now lets get to business!  Is it me or is there a rapidly  increasing amount of young Hip Hoppers specifically emcees currently surfing the tidal wave induced by cats like Kanye West and more recently Lupe Fiasco and there main stream success?

THE EMCEE DIARIES/I AM HIP-HOP BLOG-- Priest Forever Says "Everybody Wins" at The Dirty Awards

Okay, now I bet y'all are probably thinking, why are they still talking about this, it's over and done, talk about Plaxico Burress doing a straight Cheddar Bob to himself (WHAT UP, FOXX FILES!?) But here's the thing. If you are an avid listener to the radio show that I'm on, Equilibrium Radio, then you know that me and my co-hosts are well known for going OFF on the dumbf*ckery that goes on in Hip-Hop...so why should this be any different, even if we're a week late? Plus, there hasn't been MUCH of an update to this story besides Shawty Lo's manager wanting to get him and T.I. together for a unity concert (*cough* GET MONEY! Whatcha say, uhh?! GET MONEY! *cough*) so there's no reason to keep quiet.

Secondly, I have been BEGGING, PLEADING, and THREATENING (ha,ha!) our show's co-host, DJ, and my ace brotha Priest Forever, to contribute to this blog for a minute, especially since  1) he was one of the main people behind me to launch it in the first place; and 2) he is a true emcee (YouTube "Tha Gecko Brothas")...so he needed to do an emcee blog. Anyway, let me stop rambling and give him the floor.

While some people may think that [the Dirty Awards fiasco] may be a bad look for rap music, lets be real about few things here.  It is the best thing that could've happened for rap music.

Now T.I. and Shawty Lo are gonna win by getting "Street Cred" for keeping it real.  This is priceless to two negroes who weigh a buck five soaking wet and when alone wont throw joints but when with their people will get extremely BROLIC!

Wassup, I know y'all gonna be in full effect for this one!

The latest Emcee Diary comes from someone who's music we have featured previously on TBE, up-and-coming Queens beatmaker and rhymespitter PreZZure. One of the things we at TBE are known for are giving props to the dope emcees, especially those who were on the forefront of a particular movement in Hip-Hop. Read below how one rapper inspired PreZZure to pick up the pen... AND a backpack (if you know him, you see what I mean, haha).

My favorite emcee is Joe Budden. My favorite Hip-Hop group is Wu-Tang Clan. My favorite Hip Hop song is "Boom" by Royce 5'9". My goal is to be recognized as one of the best producers ever, but somehow the one that inspired to be an emcee is the man known as Buckshot. Kenyatta Blake is the reason I wanted to grab the mic, flip the script, and leave y’all stunned. Have you ever heard "Who Got The Props?" played before a concert? I did.

Hey y'all--

This is a blog I've been meaning to post FOR AWHILE, and being that the '08 Presidential Election is less than a month away, I thought it was only appropriate that we post it now.

As some of you may now, I am an on-air personality on WHCR 90.3FM's weekly underground hip-hop radio show, Equilibrium. The show's host and creator, Kwame Vear (which, by the way, is WHCR's very FIRST hip-hop show and has been in existence since 1992) felt compelled to write this after a few joints from a few rappers were released over the summer. That kind of camaraderie seemed to have calmed down a tad, but just in case a few lyricists STILL haven't received their wakeup call... Check it out below:

I rarely write blog statements but I feel compelled to in this situation.

As you may know Ludacris made and song endorsing Barack Obama and ridiculing his opponent and the current president. Barak had to release a statement condemning the song. With that being said here is my opinion and request of people, Black people.

Wassup everybody!

I am so excited to share this with y'all today. You know that although we post other people's interviews and posts, The Breezy Effect specializes in giving you original footage, including the "Rockin' In Da Park" video interviews (Did you peep the one with Donny Goines yet? I suggest you do!). Now we have MORE content to share!

I decided that I wanted to bring in underground/indepedent emcees to do guest blog posts for me entitled "The Emcee Diaries". The artists would either film video or write posts and speak their minds on various topics in relevance to the the hip-hop game. First up to bat is emcee/actor John O., one half of the duo Tha Gecko Brothas (but probably more noticeable to you YouTube fiends as "Mike Bivins" from the Making The Band 4 spoofs and as "Juelz Santana" in the "Black Republican" spoof).
